Has anyone been to Kew recently, three highlights for me are the Steam museum, the Music museum (formally the Piano museum) and of course Kew Gardens. On our visit there last year we visited all three, staying in the Premier Inn, Ealing Broadway for a few days, a good base due to the good transport links, buses and underground. The Steam museum is well worth a visit for any steam enthusiast, it used to be a pumping station opened in Victorian times, the installed engines have to be seen to be believed, two very large beam engines and a selection of other steam engines, some from other locations, they generally are in steam at weekends and public holidays. The museum focuses on water and steam with so much to see.

You can split a day between Steam museum and the Music museum then return the following day for a visit to Kew Gardens, although itis easy to get lost in the activities at the Steam museum.
